Arum Lily Growing Notes

Available each year with Summer Flowering bulbs and perennials from June till September

Arum Lilies or sometimes known as funeral lilies are simple to grow in almost any position that watered regularly or is naturally damp, even wet like besides a pond or bog. They have thick lush foliage that grows up to 100cm high with large flowers on strong stems. Bulbs Direct only sells a variation 'green goddess' unlike the normal arum lily is not regarded as a weed in some states of Australia unlike the pure white common variety.

Flowering Season: Spring to Early Summer.

Plant Height: Up to 100cm of foliage and up to 150cm including flowers

Plant Spacing: 25cm to 30cm

Position: Half day sun to filtered light best. Damp or well watered area best.

Watering: Keep soil moist during dry periods

Fertilising: Prepare the soil before planting with a complete fertiliser, then top dress each spring.

Lifting and storage: No need to lift for at least 3 years. Can be lifted and divided during the winter months and re-planted immediately.

Pests: Arums are very hardy and are not normally affected by pests.

Tips: Arum lilies will make large clumps in around 3 years  left undisturbed. Avoid Hot dry position as Arum Lilies are at their best in moist cool conditions
