Results for growing Daffodils can be improved by by following a few basic steps. Plant daffodils to the recommended depth. This will reduce the spliting up of your Daffodil bulbs and help maintain healther bulbs for a long period of time. When Daffodils are planted shallow they tend to split up. This produces small blubs that flower poorly or not at all. Warmer areas of Australia were the winters are very mild need early flowering varieties so the plant is finished flowering before hot dry weather sets in for summer. This helps next years flower develop before conditions become unfavorable. Cooler areas of Australia can grow all varieties successfully.

Care

Lifting & Storage: Daffodils can be left in for years. If you decide to lift to break up of move them, wait until the leaves have yellowed down to the base before lifting.

Pest Control: Bait snails and slugs during the growing period.

Planting Depth: Plant Daffodils 10cm deep and deeper in warmer areas.

Plant Spacing: Space your Daffodil bulbs 10 to 15cm apart.

Position & Properties

Garden Position: Daffodils enjoy half day to full day sun in the garden or pots.

Cut Flower: Excellent cut flower

Potting: Daffodils are suitable for potting, especially the miniature varieties.
