Fill the specially made hyacinth jar with water to 5mm below the base of the hyacinth bulb. Sit the bulb in the top of the vase, making sure the bulb base does not touch the water. Place the hyacinth jar with the bulb in place in to a cool dark cupboard until the hyacinth starts to shoot. When the shoot has grown to 5cm long. Move the vase and bulb in to partial light and gradually over the next week, move the jar towards more light and warmth until the hyacinth and vase are in there final position. Do not place the vase directly behind glass. The hyacinth will continue to develop, gradually producing a flower stem then a beautiful flower.
