Plant approximately 10-15cm deep and 15cm apart. Use a sunny to lightly shaded position with well-drained soil. Work in plenty of well rotted animal manure mixed with Blood and Bone, or other complete granular fertiliser, preparing very rich soil just before planting. Layer of compost on top of soil & water once weekly if soil starts to dry during growing and or flowering season. The bulbs is planted with the eye facing up. You can find the eye of the bulb on what is usually the flatter side. Top dress each spring with complete fertiliser. Calla bulbs an be left for several years, then lifted, divided and replanted. If soils become to wet and boggy after the callas have died back, they are best lifted each year. Plant callas from May through to November. Flowering can start in December and depending on the planting time finish in April. Callas can vary in  height from 30-100cm depending on the variety you grow. Watch out for Slugs & Snails who consider Calla leaves a delicacy. Bait for snails & slugs as soon as the shoots start to show. Potted Callas can be brought indoors when flowering for short periods at a time. Callas prefer Cool to Sub Tropical climates.
